About Us

Lake Macquarie Bushwalkers Inc. has been providing fabulous bushwalks to members and visitors since 1998. Our club walks are held primarily in the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast, Hunter and Port Stephens areas, and occasionally in Sydney. We are a member of Bushwalking NSW Inc.

We aim to

• Organise bushwalking through day walks on a regular basis
• Foster an appreciation of and respect for unspoiled bush land, natural scenery and wildlife and to enjoy the  social aspects of bushwalking
• Operate within the scope of the club’s Risk Management Policy and Bushwalking NSW best practice

Our club meets on Saturdays and Wednesdays for day walks. Our quarterly walks programs are distributed towards the end of each January, March, June and September.

The walks program is located on the Program page of this website. it identifies

• the scheduled walk
• walk grade (the degree of difficulty for each walk)
• the name of the walk leader and contact  details.

Visitors should phone the leader at least two days before the scheduled walk.

Lake Macquarie Bushwalkers holds several trips away each year. These trips last for a few days to a month and usually involve a mix of day walks and sightseeing opportunities. These trips are available to our club members.
